THE "KORNELIJA" VARIETY

Kornelija is a new variety of hulless (naked)  barley developed in Latvia. This variety is especially suitable for production of niche and functional products including whole grain food.
Kornelija  barley is characterized by a unique set of features: excellent chemical composition and great dietary value, they are a source for food with a high level of proteins and beta-glucans.
Kornelija variety are suitable for development of classic products like flakes, pearls, bread, and other products, but also are  favorable for development of new niche product recipes (especially for people who have to follow specific diets), as well as new (innovative) functional foods – muesli, energy bars, drinks and other recipes.

    The unique composition of grain and excellent dietary value  have the following excellent features: rich in protein, β-glucans (soluble fibres) and biologically active compounds.
